| John Cage saw music as organized sound, and that there was no distinction between "musical" and "unmusical" sounds. Hy Cage may be reacting to Edgard Varèse's Ameriques here. Incidently, Varèse and John Cage once fought over who had the right to use the term "Organized Sound." |
