| Interpretation a) The wise owl might be indicating that the parrot would do better if it had gone to school, and that the parrot's ignorance is showing, or b) The cartoonist might be more cynically suggesting that if you already have the skill of mimickry there is no need to attend school. This ambivalence is reflected in John Cage's life and atttiudes towards formal education. There is, after all, no maverick training school. |
